What should be done to redeem our country?

Ethiopia is currently facing a serious problem threatening its very existence. Up to 12 million people are expected to suffer from starvation which has become part and parcel of Ethiopia since several decades ago. A large number of Ethiopians are currently dying of the hunger engulfing a large part of the country.

As if starvation is not enough, Ethiopia is becoming a bitter place to live in for its citizens. They are deprived of all civil, human and political rights. The country has turned to a large single prison.

The great Ethiopia, which we once inherited from our forefathers, is gradually turning to a disrespected, discredited, hunger-stricken, small African state with its people watching its gradual destruction silently. Ethiopians have been stolen of their pride and courage to save their motherland and have been turned to simple on-lookers of their own fate. The country that has become land-locked for a decade and a half ago is now loosing its fertile western and eastern borders sizing 30 - 60 km in width and 160 km in length to the Sudan. Though oppressive all the previous Ethiopian governments managed to defend our country's territorial integrity from all sorts of foreign aggression and forwarded to us a land whole and intact. The current Woyane-led government is unsurpassed in it's crimes committed against the very territorial integrity of Ethiopia. First, Woyane advocated for the independence of Eritrea and then granted it without Ethiopians having their voices heard. The country, under Woyane's rule, gave away its right to outlet to Red Sea making itself one of the few land-locked countries in the world. It was the Woyane leaders who strongly debated disfavoring Assab even against their ally, the USA, who was willing to leave the Assab port under Ethiopia's administration. The Ethiopian people were forced to accept this shameful action under gunpoint of the Woyane military who were roaming in the capital to see to it that no one reacted against. And then is the Badme case where after 100000 young people from both sides have been left offer given to Issayas Afeworki.

And now it is the Sudan who is on the cue to get its share. To keep the Sudan from supporting Woyane opponents from acting from within the Sudan, land donation was the best alternative. Since border issue is a sensitive one, the donation has to be done in great secrecy and with a subtle design of denial when uncovered.

It is such a government we have in Ethiopia; a government that does nothing when a large number of the country's population is starving; a government that left the country land-locked and exposed the country to the shameful begging of Djibouti to let us use its ports; a government that sells out large areas of Ethiopia to a foreign nation; a government that is engaged only in aggrandizing itself as regards political power and economic enrichment; a government unequalled in lies and pretensions; a government that has prohibited freedom of speech, organization, press and the like; a government that has made the Ethiopian people to be ashamed of their historical legacy, culture, religion, and identity; a government that has made it a crime to talk about a united Ethiopia, an Ethiopia of prosperous past history, a pride Ethiopia who defeated all colonial powers and preserved its territorial integrity. The Woyanes hate mention of our beloved leaders that have done a great deal in defence of Ethiopia such as Menelik.

It is a government that is arrogant and with no willingness of listening both to internal and international critics. It is a government by one man who acts the Prime minister, the Chief of Staff, the Head of the press, the court, the police, the ministry of finance and so on and so forth. And that Man is Meles Zenawi, a born dictator who needs to be removed willingly or unwillingly if mother Ethiopia is to be saved. Of course this requires that opposition forces stop fighting one another and channel all their energy and resources, both material and intellectual towards a central and timely most dangerous enemy, Meles Zenawi and his surrogates. May God help Ethiopia.
